This process employs multiple levels of real-time validation to ensure the accuracy of end-user information. Additionally, in conjunction with a strategic alliance with the STAR Network, ICSolutions has greater insight into the end-user's bank account, thereby enabling the highest degree of risk assessment.

The ACH process is integrated with the ICSolutions Point-of-Sale PrePaid Collect (PSPC™) platform, which provides end-users with the widest range of convenient payment options and ultimately generates increased revenues.

Western Union
ICSolutions is an approved member of the Western Union payment network. With 150,000+ Western Union Agent locations world-wide, and of over 38,000 Western Union Agent locations in North America, Western Union offers the most trusted method of money transfer. These agents are conveniently located and generally offer extended business hours.

According to the most recent Federal Reserve study, 13.2% of American families do not have a checking account and 9.5% have no banking relationship whatsoever. Therefore, the ability to offer a familiar cash payment method to these families is an essential component of maximizing the revenue potential of inmate calling.

The Western Union payment network is interfaced to the ICSolutions Point-of-Sale PrePaid Collect (PSPC™) platform, which provides end-users the opportunity to establish PrePaid accounts without requiring confidential banking or credit card information.

PrePaid Account Types

Debit is a fully integrated platform that allows inmates to place calls utilizing the funds established and maintained in their individual PIN-based accounts. ICSolutions will interface with the facility’s inmate/records management system or commissary software package to provide a bridge that allows for a seamless transfer of information relative to the inmate.

Debit Card is another prepaid calling alternative. The facility orders the cards from ICSolutions at a discounted rate and then resells them to the inmate at face value as a commissary item.  Unlike some debit card alternatives, ICSolutions' cards offer full call control features and provides full on-site reporting capability. Inmates are able to exchange the unused balance for a WorldWide card for us outside of the facility, upon their release. Thus eliminating the need to refund the individual for balances remaining on the card.

PSPC (Point-Of-Sale PrePaid Collect) application is similar to collect calling, except that calls are paid for in advance by the called party.  Coupled with a short complementary call, the design and objective is to provide the short-term inmate with direct access to individuals that can help facilitate their release and provide a communications avenue to friends and family of long-term inmates. PSPC results in higher revenues and fewer complaints by allowing calls to telephone numbers that would ordinarily be blocked due to a lack of billing arrangements.  The ICS advantage is in real-time access.  When a call is placed to a number that would be blocked for billing reasons, the called party is provided with the option for immediate access to ICS customer service center to establish billing arrangements.  Typically, an account is established in 15 minutes and inmate calling access is re-established.  This function typically results in an increase of 30%+ in completed call volume – which means less complaints and higher commission revenue.
